This stunning piece stands 5 inches high. The impressive detail work can be seen in the close-up photos. The base is of red cedar, the bird is of tupelo and the vine is steel and brass.

It may be seen at the Robert Paul Galleries. It was completed in January 2007.

[Cardinalis cardinalis]

This beautiful duo is found abundantly in the Eastern U.S. They do not migrate and inhabit woodland edges, stream-side thickets and suburban gardens.

This one-half sized pair is made of tupelo. The vines are of steel and brass, and the leaves are of copper. The base is a distinctive maple burl as seen in one of the views below. The piece is 6" high and and is in a private collection.
