Cardinalis cardinalis

This beautiful duo is found abundantly in the Eastern U.S. They do not migrate and inhabit woodland edges, stream-side thickets and suburban gardens.

This one-half sized pair is made of tupelo. The vines are of steel and brass, and the leaves are of copper. The base is a distinctive maple burl as seen in one of the views below. The piece is 6″ high and and is in a private collection.
